Jeff Chambers is the head instructor for the
Elmwood Junior Golf Program. Jeff was born November 17th, 1975 in Portage la Prairie Manitoba. Jeff was interested in golf his entire life, and as a result, Jeff became a professional in 2001. Since turning pro, Jeff has accumlated many awards. including the CPGA of Saskatchewan's assistant player of the year, just a year after turning pro. Jeff is now the Head professional of the Elmwood golf club. He has a great love for the game and a terrific feel for how to teach the game. Before becoming the Head professional in 2007, Jeff served as the head coach for the Sask Golf Association junior program. He is regarded as one of the top golf teachers in Canada, and has won the CPGA of Saskatchewan Junior golf Promoter of the year in 2006, 2008, as well as last year - 2009. Jeff also received the 2009 CPGA of Sask Head Professional Player of the Year. Jeff is Married to Carrie Chambers, and resides in Swift Current all year round. Jeff is excited to start another year of the junior program. Jeff looks forward to teaching young golfers the basics of the game, and making sure they have fun! |

Thomas Skelton is the assitant professional at the
Elmwood Golf Club. Thomas, 21, was born and raised in Swift Current, and grew up at The golf club. Thomas worked his way through the ranks from the time he was 11, and became a teaching professional last season. Thomas is currently enrolled in the Elementary Education Program at the University of Regina, where after his degree he plans on teaching somewhere in the Kindergarten to grade 5 classroom. Thomas has a passion for kids, and has a great strength at being able to get down to the children's level and teach from their perspective. Thomas loves being a part of the junior program, and also teaches private lessons, but says himself he "specializes in junior lessons." Thomas also wants you to know you can follow him on his personal golf blog. He uses his blog for the golf program, and to keep kids in touch with the golf program, and the instructors. Thomas is a great asset to the program, and makes sure that the kids have as much fun learning as he does teaching. |
